Denmark's Christmas stamps done by animator

2020 Christmas Stamps

The 2020 Greenlandic Christmas stamps are created by the artist Maja-Lisa Kehlet - rising star in the Greenlandic art world. The stamps are based on the 2019 book "The most beautiful Christmas tree in the world" by Juaaka Lyberth. The book revolves around the town of Uummannaq, where the Christmas spirit is pretty low, as the local administrator has decided not to order Christmas trees for the town.

A boy named Kunuk enlists the help of the elfs, in order to save Christmas, but he is in for a rough time, as local trolls will do whatever it takes to ruin the Christmas spirit.

The artwork for the stamps is based on the illustrations from the book, but clearly has the personal touch of the artist, Maja-Lisa. The vivid colors for the stamp really make the stamps stand out, and the stamps are quite extraordinary - and they really help give you that Christmas feeling.

The stamps are available at POST Greenland, where you can get the set, or the booklet with six of each stamp. You can also find all the other version there as well.
